Containment
This series explores the tension between confinement and vitality. Through geometric abstraction and hard-edged forms, these paintings embody the struggle to maintain vibrancy within restricted spaces—like energy pressing against the walls of a cage. Painted primarily in oil, each piece reflects a deliberate commitment to craft. The use of oil, rather than the more forgiving medium of acrylic, aligns with the spirit of shugyou (修行), a Japanese concept of disciplined practice and spiritual refinement. This intentional approach imbues the works with a meditative focus, emphasizing both their conceptual depth and material presence.
